What is RecList?  RecList is the online marketplace for all types of recreational rentals here in the midwest.  There are thousands of outdoor rentals available, but simply lack visibility for those looking to rent, get outside, and enjoy the outdoors.  Quickly search on different types of rental items, which location and for certain dates, then click search.  You'll easily see what rental items are actually available on specific dates without having to call numerous locations/providers to locate an available rental.

Who we are  A group of friends from the Midwest who all enjoy the beautiful outdoors and adventures available to us here locally/regionally.  Avid outdoorsman who fish/hunt and that take snowmobile and BWCA trips annually.  We built RecList to make it easier for everyone to find these rentals/services since we can’t all afford to own an assortment of rental equipment.

What does Reclist offer?  RecList lets you instantly see what rentals/services are available on any given date. It keep you from having to call 10+ rentals businesses just to find one available when you want it!

Are there service fees while using RecList?  There are no service fees or costs associated with using RecList.  It does not cost you anything to setup your listings on RecList – besides roughly 10 minutes of your time.  It does not cost you anything to create an account when trying rent items listed on RecList

Why cant I book & pay on RecList?  Currently we do not offer a booking/payment method within RecList.  After listening to user input we have decided to simply connect interested renters to those renting equipment or providing services. More often than not, a rental waiver is signed when picking up the equipment/service and a deposit is sometimes requested as well. 

How do reviews affect my listing or my business on RecList?  If you list and rent items on RecList we recommend you ask your customer to leave a review on your Reclist account/rental items. This helps builds your credibility as a reliable and fair rental/service provider.

Are there age limits to renting items on RecList?  You must be 18 years of age to use the RecList platform.  Some rental/service providers may set a minimum age that is different (ex: 21 or 25 yrs of age).  It is the users responsibility to confirm with the rental/service provider, prior to time of rental, any specific requirements that provider may deem necessary.

Do I need a drivers license to rent item on RecList?  Some rental/service providers may require a copy of a valid drivers license on record, but it is the sole discretion of each individual rental/service provider.  This requirement will vary.

How do I cancel a booking?  Any actual booking is done via phone or email correspondence between the two interested parties.  We do not provide booking services, confirmations, or cancellations through RecList.  Any and all cancelations must be done directly between the two parties (user and rental/service provider).

How do I put down a deposit? (if required)  Each rental/service provider is different in how they hold a deposit, if they even require a deposit at all.  It is the users responsibility to confirm with the rental/service provider, prior to time of rental, any specific deposit requirements that provider may deem necessary.

How do I create an account?  Click the Create an Account button and provide some basic contact information. We require an account to list and rent from listings on RecList.  We require this to both provide accurate/relevant recreational listings to the RecList community, but also to protect users contact information from any malicious online activity from anyone not logged into their RecList account.

How do I edit my business profile?  Once you have created a RecList account, you can edit/change contact info and business hours for example by clicking the arrow next to the Reclist logo “waves” in the top left corner of the site. Then click on My Profile.  All associated information within your RecList account is edited within this location of your profile.

How do I change/recover my password?  Once you have created a RecList account, you can change your password by clicking the arrow next to the Reclist logo “waves” in the top left corner of the site. Then click on My Profile.  Your password can be changed at the bottom of this page.  All associated information within your RecList account is edited within this location of your profile.

Can RecList deactivate my account?  As described within our Terms & Conditions page: “RecList may immediately issue a warning, temporarily suspend, indefinitely suspend or terminate your use of all or any portion of the Services if you breach these Terms and Conditions or at any time, for any reason or no reason at the sole discretion of RecList.”  Basically we’ll patrol listings to the best of ability and remove irrelevant, inappropriate, and malicious listings at our discretion once they have been identified.

Do I need insurance to list my item for rent on Reclist?  If you’re renting a motorized piece of equipment, you should check with the equipment owner to confirm they have the proper insurance. It’s RecList’s policy to not offer advice about insurance and/or compliance with regulations and requirements as these vary by location of each rental/service provider.  When owners sign up for RecList, they agree that they are compliant and take complete responsibility for compliance as part of our terms of use.  Any rental/service provider found not to be operating within federal, state, and local laws/guidelines will be removed from the RecList community as soon as identified.  It is important to know that RecList does not offer any insurance for bookings.  Any insurance inquiries are to be handled directly by a customer and owner(rental/service provider) since policies, laws, and regulations vary from state to state and by country.
